13 Reasons Why

13 Reasons Why a novel written by Jay Asher.

The story revolves around Clay Jensen and set of tapes. Clay Jensen comes home one day and there is a set of tapes in a box.  The box full of tapes is one young lady's suicide note. Her 13 reasons why killed herself.

There are two sets of tapes. One as a sort of blackmail with an outside party and the set that gets passed around.

Hannah Baker the girl who was destroyed by one act. One act that lead to a snow ball effect.

Honestly I love this book. I cry every time I read it. I cry because I can relate to this story so well. It makes you to scream at the world and try and understand how and why people are so cruel to others.  Once you pick up this novel you wont want to put it down.

"You can't stop the future. You can't rewind the past. The only way to learn the secret...is to press play."

Avengers: Age Of Ultron

Avengers: Age of Ultron. The second Avengers movie. Featuring the original team and and some new additions to the team as well.

An all star cast. So many people from the other Marvel movies come into play for this movie. Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark; Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanov, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, James Spader as Ultron, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Pietro Maximoff, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury,  Paul Bettany as Vision/Jarvis, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Don Cheadle as Rhodey, Andy Serkis as Klaw, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Stellan Skarsgard as Erik Selvig, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Anthony Mackie as Falcon, Claudia Kim as Helen Cho, Josh Brolin as Thanos,

We can honestly blame Tony Stark for this entire issue.  But Wanda Maximoff "Scarlett Witch" caused his need to empliment the Ultron program. His need to see his team safe.

But thankfully Ultron fucked up and Wanda saw what he wanted to do and she and her brother Pietro "Quicksilver" switched sides.  Which they do and they try everything they can to help the Avengers.

And of course something happens to the team before the final throw down and they need to work through their issues. Which is how we now know Clint Barton "Hawkeye" has a wife and kids.

Thor manages to make sure Vision comes into life. And the Vision was Ultron's last evolution.

In the battle the team does all they can to save the innocent people. But alas someone dies.....really pisses me off though.

But like always good trumps evil. Bruce Banner is missing. Steve Rogers and Natasha to train the next team - War machince - Rhodey -, Wanda, and vision.

In The After

In The After is written by Demitria Lunetta (Which I love her name, very unique and beautiful). This is her debut novels.

This book is a post apocalyptic world. This story follows Amy and a young baby she found and named well...Baby (Amy was 14 at the time when she found Baby).

Mind you this apocalypse doesn't feature vampires (or vampire like things - The Passage) or zombies. It involves green monsters. But there is more to those green monsters than anyone would realize.

Amy and Baby rescue a young girl named Amber which leads to their downfall so to speak but they get saved and brought to a town called New Hope.

Only Amy is curious and she goes prying and wont let things rest.

But what she finds brings things to light.

Read the book its an amazing read. I read it in 24 hours after picking it up.

Killer Legends

This film is a horror crime documentary about four of the many urban legends and the crimes that they are based off of or are caused by the urban legends. All things made up are based off of some reality.

This film came out in 2014. Starring Joshua Zeman and Rachel Mills. Also directed by Joshua Zeman. The film is filmed in 3 different locations. Texarkana, Texas, Houston, Texas, and finally Chicago, Illinois.

The first urban legend they mention is the Cropsy legend right at the beginning of the film before moving on to the next one, Which is the urban legend of Lovers' Lane and the Hook Man.

They talk about the urban legend surrounding Lovers' Lane and the Hook Man.  They are in Texarkana, Texas.  Where this happened. Only the killer used a gun instead of a hook.  He killed 5 young adults.  He was dubbed the Phantom Killer/Murderer.  There are several films that this string of killings happened to inspire.

The next urban legend was the Candy Man and all the horrors that parents don't except to happen when it comes down to trick or treating on Halloween night.

Then you have the babysitter and the killer. You know the one where there is a young girl who is babysitting someone's child and some stranger calls asking if she's checked on the kid and she hasn't. She calls the cop and still gets killed anyways.

Then you have the Killer Clown urban legend. Which you know contributes to everyone's fear of clowns.  But it delves into the crimes that involved any sort of clown.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

I recently saw X-Men: Days of Future Past. HBO was doing this free thing so I recorded it.

I absolutely loved this movie. It brought back some of my favorite characters: Storm, Bobby, th;e Professor, Magneto, Kitty, and obviously Logan.

In this movie Kitty sends Logan's subconscious back in time in to a younger version of himself and he has to get the Professor to believe what he says and stop Mystic from killing Trask thus stopping them from kidnapping her and using her abilities to cause the end of mutants.

The Heretic Queen

The Heretic Queen is by Michelle Moran.

The main female lead of this book is Nefertari (who is the niece of Nefertiti, daughter of Nefertiti's sister Mutnodjmet and General Nakhtmin, granddaughter of Tey and Ay who took over after Nefertiti was killed and Tutankhmun died).

In this book Seti I is ruling over Egypt with his queen Tuya. After tradiy strikes and kills off Mutnodjmet remaining family and that includes Pharoh Ay and  his queen Tey.  Mutnodjmet is forced to marry Horemheb and he takes the throne, but Mutnodjmet gives birth to a girl, Nefertari, and Hormheb is left without any heir and gives the throne to his trusted general Ramesses I which leads to Ramsesses II rule.

Nefertari marries Ramsesses II and becomes his Chief Wife and she has to work to get that position.  All the while she is ruling by Ramsesses side she learns what has caused her family to be piratically erased from history - outside of the fact that her family were declared heritics.  She finds out that there was a more sinister plot to the fire that took her family.

She must persevere through so much and come out on top or else lose her place in history forever. Which she does. And in the end the truth comes out and with every wrong that was made - that went against Ma'at - was righted.

Read this book.  Honestly I love how Moran bridged Nefertiti to Nefertari. It is so well done. This book just like Nefertiti is a work of fiction that stick true to the facts that are known.
